The Oceanside Farm Products Guide was originally developed in 1999 by the Arrowsmith Agriculture Association, sponsors of the Coombs Fair, to promote farm producers and value added operators in the Oceanside area. In 2002, the Qualicum Beach Farmers Market assumed responsibility for keeping the Guide current and distributing copies in March each year.

Listing is open to all food producers in the area without cost. Names and product descriptions are necessarily, therefore, published without qualification or endorsement.

Printing and distribution was initially fully paid by the Qualicum Beach Farmers Market and the Errington Farmers Market. Business card ads now cover costs and enable a much wider distribution of the Guide. Currently, 5000 copies are distributed at farmers markets, local Chambers of Commerce offices, tourism offices, libraries, community centres, etc.
